The Shack Seafood Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Disgusting. I ordered the seafood skillet. It's description said white fish, scallops, and shrimp. Judging by that, I assumed it was a plate of seafood- which is what I wanted. It was all pasta with a little seafood mixed in. It was completely bland. Just terrible. Service was also bad. It took ten minutes to get out check after we were done eating, and that was after we had to go find the waitress. A bad experience. Will never go here again.

For a place called the seafood shack....they had 3 appetizers. The gumbo was not good. The haddock was tasty. ..but greasy. Probably would not return.

I had lunch with my boss today and we both ordered the seafood medley which comes on pasta or rice or with any other side you choose. We chose on pasta. The meal was preceded with a basket of bread and salad with house salad. Cool, crisp and fresh but nothing over the top. The bread was served with little pre packaged butters that were hard to spread. A small pet peeve of mine. However, the entree made up for all of that. The portion was large and each dish was perfectly cooked pasta topped with mushrooms, mahi mahi, bay scallops and shrimp in a creamy wine sauce. They serve it with a side of parmesan cheese. There was enough to take home leftovers. The service was friendly, timely and the view was amazing. Dolphins, fish jumping and all. I will be back soon!

After reading the yelp reviews and seeing the pictures we decided to try this location out. A Saturday night and the restaurant had 10 customers at most. The appetizers were good, Stuffed mushrooms needed to be larger, they were the size of dimes with a large scoop of crab flavored breading, The Seafood melt was good but a little wetter then I would have liked. The Seafood gumbo came out room temperature and after sending it back came out again room temperature? My dinner The Captains Platter which is pictured by other reviewers must have been a owners plant. The platter was swimming in a lake of fake butter, The Ciopinno was frozen cooked and poorly executed. The Lobster roll was 1/2 the size of the ones pictured in Yelp??? The Blacked chicken pasta was a uniformed brown color with the flavor of dehydrated mushroom powder. The overall experience really really could be a candidate for the show Kitchen Nightmares. The fish on my plate must have been frozen for years before it ended up on my plate. Another weird thing is the music they had piped in. It was a mix of 1/4 OK dinner music and 3/4 some "pre-flower child" San Francisco early 60's Peter Paul and Mary "B" side album music. Very weird. The location has great potential but the food quality feel so far short, it was disappointing.

I was trying to find a seafood restaurant in Melbourne and actually found the Shack Seafood Restaurant off of the Melbourne Visitor's Map. From the second my group walked in, to when we left we had great service. We were able to sit outside in the screened in patio and basically had the entire patio to ourselves. The patio area is right on the river. I don't know if it was the time I was there but there were no flies or bugs around. The lunch menu had a wide selection of different choices and it was hard to decide what to choose. The waitress suggested her two favorite choices and everyone chose the lobster roll. There was a lot of fresh lobster. The only thing I would have liked was some more coleslaw. The waitress checked back on the table throughout lunch to make sure if we needed any refills or other anything else. Lunch was a nice experience and I definitely would come back again.

The Shack is a Melbourne area institution for many decades and well deserving of praise. Located on the riverfront the fresh breezes allow patio dining in comfort even during summer months. If you get lucky you may see dolphins playing in the river. The interior is warmly comfortable and mainly composed of dark wood, oak floors and local artwork. The dining tables are a work of art themselves. The food is freshly prepared w/ menus available on the-shack.biz . Fresh fish, seasonal, typically includes one or more of: Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Atlantic Salmon, Yellow Fin Tuna, Flounder and/or Trout. Chicken, burgers and steak dishes are available as well, plus a nice selection of salads. I especially like the fact that you can get a fish sandwich that is grilled, blackened, jerked or fried. Add a cup of clam chowder and you now have an excellent lunch at reasonable cost. About the only thing that has changed over the past 40 years is the recent removal of a palm tree from the middle of its parking lot ... I noticed this because I somehow managed to dent my fender (my car's fender that is) one hot afternoon back on 21 August 1982 after a too long birthday lunch. Yet, I miss seeing that palm tree just because of the memories. There's a pothole in the blacktop where the palm tree once grew.

We love going to The Shack - Haddock on Friday night is excellent. However, our last visit has to do with the Bartender. I ordered a drink - a madori sour "light on the ice" - when the drink was delivered, we were told "the bartender said this is the way the drink is made, can't do light on the ice." Let me tell you Ladies - if the you LIGHT ON THE ICE and the bartender says it can't be done or that's the way the drink is made, then the bartender needs to be REPLACED!!!!!!! You buy the drink - it is made the way YOU want, not what the bartender THINKS it should be..,..IF THE CHEF COOKS YOUR FOOD YOUR WAY - THE DRINKS SHOULD BE MADE YOUR WAY!!!!!! END OF STORY.

We went here the other night. Glad the long time owners are back! Highly recommend the fish of the day with tomato, basil and mushrooms. Everything was wonderful. House dressing was good but would have liked less iceberg lettuce and more leaf lettuce in the salad.

Amazing! Never knew about this place before and went there on a whim. We got there very late (9pm) and I thought we'd be rushed out but NO! The grouper was outstanding and you MUST have the seafood melt appetizer. The only thing better than the food was our server Phyllis who was an absolute delight and knew the menu like the back of her hand. Her suggestions were right on and the pineapple upside cake was sinful! Looking forward to going back. This is my new favorite seafood place.

I would almost like to take back 1/2 a star and I'll tell you why. I was looking forward to my birthday dinner (actually 430 pm). The coleslaw was A plus!! My fried shrimp was big and tender and wonderfully fresh, however, when you bit into one all the beautiful light breading fell off. My "blue" cocktail was generously poured with vodka and was delicious, thus I scooped up the breading and ate it by itself. (I had had 2 of the blue cocktail as by then). There were only two tables of two at this point. The bread arrived (delicious but only 2 small rolls). The dinners were very good quality but a bit on the small size. We had to ask for more bread and an ice tea refill. A table of 12 came in and our poor waitress forgot about us. After about 15 minutes, a second waitress came in to help and things got better. I never got my asked for additional cocktail sauce. All in all, a pretty place right on the water....old building, but I think that adds to its charm. I would definitely go back...the food was really good and the waitress couldn't really help being overwhelmed! Also they have a "help wanted" sign on the door!

First of all, I had big expectations for this restaurant, I really wanted to try the lobster roll and it had pretty good reviews, when we first got there, we were impressed for the view and the parking lot was pretty crowded, the waitress had a nice attitude but she wasn't good about giving suggestions, we ordered the lobster roll and the captain's platter, i didn't like the lobster because it tasted like they took it from the fridge and mixed with a jar of mayo, nothing special, and my hubby tried the platter, all dipped in batter, and deep deep fried with old oil, he had two bites then he got nauseous, we had to ask for a refund because he couldn't eat it at all, sorry but not coming back again.

Used to come here growing up as a kid and happen to drive by and try it since its been 10 years or so. It was not how I remember, maybe ownership changed. The seafood was Blan, lacked flavor, dry, and almost seem like it just came out a freezer. Sad to say not worth going back... What a disappointment.

We stopped by on the way to New Smyrna Beach and had the BEST seafood!!! their captain's sampler platter was PERFECT, deep fried calamari, conch fritters and best mahi mahi I have ever had!!! the broiled fish/scallops and shrimp where Just as good!! loved the dessert, the clam chowder and mashed potatoes too!! Everything was delicious!! Price was very reasonable and customer service was outstanding, our waitress was the sweetest lady!!! we will most definitely return on our next road trip up state.

The best fried shrimp ever! Seriously! This place is the real deal. Sure, by no means is this place fancy, but, in my opinion, places don't need to be fancy to be amazing... and that's just what this place is--amazing! This little gem, located near Melbourne, FL, is definitely worthy checking out. They offer a full menu of seafood goodness (both the fried variety and the healthier broiled variety). Now, when I splurge, I don't usually go for healthy, so I can't vouch for those items... but, everything I tried, was right on. First off, I gotta mention those fried shrimp again! Wow! They were giant, plump, tasty and fried up just right! Seriously, I'm not lying when I say they were the best fried shrimp I've ever eaten! Other items I tried included the shrimp scampi and stuffed shrimp. All delicious! [I got the Shrimp Trio meal, which allowed me to try a sampling of their various shrimp dishes.] Before the meal, I tried several apps including the fried calamari and appetizer sampler plate w/ various fried seafood goodies... again, all tasty. We also ordered a few different pre-dinner drinks from their full-service bar, and those were tasty and strong!! Yum! And, to top it off, for their mojitos, they grow their own mint! How cool is that?!?! As for atmosphere, this place is not going to win any awards for ambiance. But, what do you expect for a place called The Shack? :) This place doesn't need to be pretentious when it comes to ambiance because they do food right! Check this place out if you're nearby Melbourne. You will be glad you did.

Tried this place out at noon on a Tuesday afternoon during spring break season and it wasn't busy at all. It was very laid back and relaxing. Great proximity right on the water with a decent amount of parking and outdoor, screened-in seating. We tried the lobster roll, fried softshell crab sandwich and fried shrimp. Everything was pretty good, but nothing that blew us away. The shrimp was in a beer batter breading which was unexpected, but still good and really big. The service was pleasant and the bar looked like a nice place to sit if dining alone.

I had dinner here on New Years Day with my Grandmother and one of my cousins. The restaurant itself and the staff were wonderful. But probably because it was New Years Day they were out of many items. Two of us wanted scallops but nope, we had to get shrimp dishes instead. I got the Shrimp Creole but I really didn't like it. It tasted like a can of Ro-Tel with a couple shrimp served over rice. On the other hand, the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms were fantastic and I tried my grandmother's Stuffed Shrimp with Garlic Pasta and that was really good too. The next time time I go back I hope everything will be in stock so I can try their Pan Seared Scallops served over Garlic Spinach which Is what I wanted to try in the first place.

Not terrible, but not that good either. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with a side salad and onion rings. The salad with the house dressing was pretty good. Lettuce, cucumber, one cherry tomato. The garlic parmesan house dressing was good. The rolls and butter were good. The shrimp came in a reasonable amount of time. The service was decent. Shrimp tasted like it was cooked hours earlier and heated up (and not very hot). You can tell when the food is cooked all the way through (well done) but isn't hot, that it was not cooked fresh. The stuffing was ok, but again not too fresh. They dumped some kind of roumelade sauce all over the stuffing. The sauce did not taste good. I think it was there to try to conceal the poor taste of the food, and the fact that the entire meal was just warmed up leftovers. I would recommend trying something else on the menu. When the check came it was for someone else's dinner and I had to send it back to get the correct check. Just not much attention to detail here.

Louisiana gumbo was very good and the baked scrod and sautéed seafood platter were very tasty! The baked potatoes were perfect, but the broccoli was very over cooked and mushy. The rolls and salad with the house dressing was awesome! Very pleasant experience especially our server Michelle ! Will go again and will tell our friends about our positive experience. You just can't beat the view!

Had dinner here last night. I got the stuffed shrimp with a baked potato, broccoli, and salad. The dressing was their house creamy parmesan dressing. The dressing was very good. The stuffed shrimp was wonderful. Portions were good size i brought home half of my potato & 2 shrimp. The atmosphere was nice. There is a covered area part attached to the building if you wanted to be outside facing the river. I would recommend this restaurant. There is something for everyone on the menu.

Wow, awesome New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Roll just melted in your mouth. Not too much mayo and soft as butter. Great live music. Service and staff ultra friendly, polite and very attentive. Over all experience was well above what I expected. Great views and atmosphere. And it doesn't break the bank.

Wasn't convinced when my husband wanted to eat dinner here but boy am I glad he convinced me. I had the Cioppino - it was delicious with Shrimp, King Crab, Mahi, Mussels, and Clams all in a rich tomato based stew. Just spicy enough. Served piping hot with garlic bread. My husband had the Yellow Fin Tuna. Also delicious. Don't hesitate. Eat here.

Nice venue -- screened in deck with nice river view. Very good service. We were there on a Friday night and they had someone playing the guitar and he was quite good! The fried oysters were very plump and cooked perfectly, the scallops were large but surprisingly tasteless. If I ever get them again, I would ask for them seared and seasoned. We will defintely be back ...

I am not sure how The Shack stays in business. I went here on Valentines Day with my husband and my 83 year old grandmother. We arrived a bit on the later side around 9 pm. We were seated after a 20 min wait. The waitress had no personality. The place smelled like MOLD and well just old carpet and old stinky dock water. When the waitress brought us complimentary bread and when we asked for more than the 3 we got originally she had a funny look on her face. I joked with my husband that she must be a bread hoarder. Ok back to the review. My grandmother ordered scallops and I ordered shrimp, and my husband ordered the steak. The waitress comes back 20 min after the order and says there are no baked potatoes and no steak . The dinners were meteocre and lacking flavor and quite small at best and mine wasn't what I ordered but I tried to consume it anyway. Best part of the night is when we were leaving we made small talk with a table that had arrived way after us. They were waiting for their meals. They ordered and we're served steak. Wow worst place ever.

The shrimp trio was a solid dish--both scampi shrimp were great and the lone stuffed shrimp was outstanding. The fried shrimp were in an outstanding batter but were significantly overdone, especially when compared to the other shrimp on the plate. It wasn't a great deal for the price but certainly wasn't bad. The $1 upcharge for the "loaded" baked potato was a big disappointment though. The charge wasn't obvious on the menu, and wouldn't have been a major problem if there was a decent amount of toppings. There was no butter on the potato, and only a few pieces of chives, but the melted slice of cheese had the consistency of a Kraft Single and the paper-thin slice of bacon couldn't be tasted.

We sat outside - nothing fancy but very comfortable - like a big screened-in lanai. Nice salad. I ate a steak and fried shrimp - lots of breading but pretty good. Very relaxed atmosphere. Not rushed. Live music (Friday night).

Always wanted to stop here! So disappointed. Two fish sandwiches with chips ( no fries ) one tea- $29 lunch. At least the waitress was full of herself and acted like she was paying attention- too busy trying to teach this 61 year old her brand of manners. I think they think they are some kind of Yellow Dog!!

Kind of disappointing. Out of towners, just off the beach, looking for great seafood. The children got hamburgers that were VERY raw. The crab cakes were over cooked and the roumalade was forgotten. After it was brought to the table it only up'd the taste a notch. The prices were high for the quality and amount of food served. We were told to get the wings by a local, but they were out of wings. One positive, the crab fries were delicious!

Delicious. Thank god this place exists. When I moved to Palm Bay, I was pretty much resigned to the fact that good restaurant were not going to be a thing. And while The Shack is extremely close to the town of Malabar (in fact, from where I live you actually drive into Malabar and then all of a sudden you're technically back in Palm Bay right before you get there), it's officially in Palm Bay, so yay, go Palm Bay! Good wine selection, very very nice and cozy interior. Parking is easy-peasy. It's right on the water with a very cool screened-in section. Service was EXCELLENT. My dining companion had many questions and is allergic to dairy, and the server remembered this fact throughout the entire meal and adjusted accordingly. She was extremely attentive without being intrusive, and handled some of our more...odd...requests (3 slices of lime in soda water, please) without blinking. Shrimp was excellent. Sides (including salad) were fresh and excellent. Entrees (crab, salmon) were right on point. As someone else mentioned, they don't rush you even if you arrive late. Great vibe inside - everyone around us was friendly and chatty (there was a couple having their anniversary dinner there, and they sang the birthday song adjusted accordingly) and having a great time. Again, I just want to mention how awesome the service was. This restaurant really takes pride in being a very enjoyable place to have dinner.

I have not been to The Shack since I was in high school which was many years ago. Back in the day, that is where all the Harris engineers took their families on Friday night to socialize and network. Well 100 years later, here I am at The Shack. We went for lunch and sat at the bar. First of all, the place has not changed in those 100 years. The bartender was nice and friendly. We started off with calamari which was fresh and excellent. I judge many places by their calamari. If it is frozen it is a sure sign that everything else is as well. I had the lobster roll, minus the celery, and it was delicious. My boyfriend had the fish special and loved it. It was a great lunch with a beautiful view. It brought back many good memories and once again, I adore it.

Less than sub-par food but even worse the owner is rude. We made a reservation days in advance for between 4-5 people, letting them know the 5th person might not be joining the party. We specifically asked for a table on the patio overlooking the water. The person on the phone told us we were set. The day of we arrived on time but were told by the old German woman that runs the place, and I quote, "I had a table on the patio for you set for 5 but because there are only 4 of you I'm moving you to a table inside." - As if we were in the wrong. Normally I would have told the woman where to go and opted for anywhere but there to eat but seeing as my 85 year old mother-in-law was with us I kept my mouth shut. The food was overpriced and kind of on the nasty side (school cafeteria taste to it). Parking is a complete and total bitch to deal with. Huge disappointment!!! Will not be back.

The BF and I ate here the last night of my trip. It was a solid 5 star experience. A tropical storm was blowing in, so we couldn't sit on the patio, but we still had an excellent view of the storm and the water. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and I love a good storm! I am not big on fried seafood, so we both got the grilled Captain's platter with flounder, scallops, a stuffed shrimp, a couple of grilled shrimp and a lobster tail. All for $21.95. The previous night, I'd been disappointed in my broiled redfish at another restaurant. Not so tonight! The flounder was delicate and absolutely perfect. Not a fishy taste to the entire fillet. And it was a large fillet, too. My redfish alone cost just about as much as the Captain's platter, and my flounder was just about the same size as that redfish! I don't like scallops, so they went to the BF. The shrimp and the lobster were wonderful. The lobster was small, but we expected that from the pricing, and the amount of other seafood on the plate. i barely touched my saffron rice, as I had so much food, and I wanted dessert! The BF said it was good though, especially when he poured his leftover clarified butter on it! The salad that came with the meal was just plain old iceburg lettuce, but it was the freshest salad I've ever had that I didn't make myself. I would be very surprised to learn that it was out of a bag. It was just too fresh! The house dressing was kind of a parmesean/garlic/ranch - easy on the garlic - and very, very good. Since we hadn't had an appetizer, we ended the meal with the Creme Brulee. They make theirs with almond extract instead of vanilla. Made for a heavenly rich dessert. The perfect end to our meal. The ambiance of this restaurant is hard to pin down. It is everything the other yelpers say: unpretentious, outmoded, a little shabby, yet I found it to be utterly charming. It's kind of divey and classy at the same time. Weird. And how it manages to be both romantic AND family friendly is unexplainable. But I guarantee that the family sitting next to us, with four children ranging in age from 10 to 2, had just as nice a meal as my BF and I did, and their proximity did not detract one iota from the romance of our table. I kinda hated FL - just too humid for me, but The Shack almost made it worth it.

When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you're not. The location is good. We watched the sun set and the dolphin feed. Good thing this entertainment was available It took well over an hour to get the main course after the salad was served and then it was not served all together. There were only three of us, but there was a 10 minute gap between the first meal and delivery of the third. This is simply unacceptable in my opinion. The coconut shrimp was way overdone and it was the first served! They did have Pompano on the menu. I learned they had sent a cook home. This is one reason for the second star. Stacy was our server and she was the biggest reason I did not give one or zero stars. All told, I was very disappointed. I did ask for a manager, but was told the manager went home, too! I doubt if I will go back. There are simply too many other choices available. Based on other reviews, this may have been a odd occurance. But for this amount of money, it is not worth the chance.

I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in Hampton Roads. I know seafood when I eat it. I've been living in the Blue Ridge mountains for many years and was looking forward to some good seafood while here on business. So I found this place on Yelp!. Batter dipped deep fried captains platter. Batter dipped...yep. I hadn't bother to ask...I assumed it would be just flour breaded like chicken......nope. I peeled off the heavy pancake batter dough from the fish to find a thin fillet about the size of a remote control. 2 shrimp, 2 scallops seemed to have been steamed inside the cocoon of funnel cake that encased it.. I asked to substitute the oysters so the chef gave me a 3rd remote control. I thought batter dipped was only in England and Long John Silvers. Oh well, the draft beer was good. It wasn't dipped in batter thank god.

The name accurately describes this place. Old time Florida seafood. Blackened Grouper was a highlight as was the creme brûlée otherwise the rest of the meal was average. Beautiful setting, right on the river with a Tiki bar and screened patio - if there were more patrons this might have been more fun. would come back, but don't expect a fine dining experience here - the decor is stuck in the 70's, but they don't advertise anything otherwise, and the food held the rest of the place up.

This place is great and is almost always packed (kind of goes together). I had the shrimp trio and it was great. Wait staff is excellent and so is the food. Got to go back and try the prime rib. I saw them bring out one to the table next to me and it was huge!

We were on our way to Vero Beach and needed lunch. The Shack was the first seafood place that came up on our search. The interior decor definitely needs updating, the patio seats were plastic patio furniture and a bit uncomfortable but the lobster roll made it all worthwhile! Lots of lobster, very little dressing and buttery grilled roll.... My mouth is watering just thinking about it! We will have to give it another try next time we are in VB.

The good: location was really cool. We sat on the patio, that is screened (there were still flies) and the view of the River is pleasant. The bad: the service was poor. I told her we had never been here before and we were struggling with what to order, instead of helping she just walked away saying she'd give us more time. We are not heavy eaters so we usually share plates... Surprise! They charge for sharing plates, wth, it does not cost them anything extra for us to share. With this in mind we order a $20 "platter". It was fairly gross and extremely lacking for the price. Tiny little shrimp, small filet of fish and 3 scallops... That is not a $20 platter! And it wasn't even good, the stuffed shrimp thing was gross and the scallops were bland. I had to cover my portion in salt just to taste anything. She told us sharing a plate was $3 but we ended up paying $7 for sharing. She couldn't even explain why it was 7, something about ordering 3 waters. Most people don't even get appetizers and we certainly wouldn't if we had known about the sharing fee. I came here because of the yelp reviews, but I will never return here, even for a free meal. These reviews must be friends and family or people who have never eaten good seafood and had good service... :-(

Dropped in here for lunch with friends while touring in the area based on Yelp's recommendations. We were not disappointed. Even the lunch menu is extensive with salads, sandwiches and dinners. Two of my companions had the shrimp salad wrap which was generous and tasty. Another companion had the crab quiche which came with fresh fruit. Our server added extra fruit because my companion said that she was hungry. I had the lobster roll which came with so much fresh lobster that I had to eat some before I could pick it up as a sandwich. give this place a try and you will not be disappointed.

I haven't been here in years because people have told me the food went down. I went there with my wife. Started with a great Martini, had a variety of appetizers that were good. My wife had the prime rib it was really good. I had the 1 1/2 Lb lobster it was great. The salad with the chunky blue cheese was also great. Service was very good. It was great time looking out over the river with the fish jumping.

While driving south through the Melbourne area, we spotted this little gem and made a U-turn to see if the menu was to our liking. Well, it was not only good - it was GREAT! Our visit was for a late-lunch and my wife had the most delicious lemon-grouper (broiled) with a side of yellow rice and delicious steamed broccoli. I had the 'blackened' grouper sandwich with coleslaw, which was equally fabulous! Not only was the food great, but the service was outstanding from a most pleasant and personable "Sharon". Apparently, "Mario" was the chef-on-duty and they've been serving great food now for some time. From the highway, the restaurant is not very noticeable, but the food and service are what makes it worth the stop. Prices were VERY reasonable and no doubt when and if we're in that area again, The Shack will be on our list for another visit. RDD

I had one of the most unexpectedly nice dining experiences here. I got off work early and didn't feel like cooking anything, so I called a friend and we agreed to try this place. The service was awesome - very warm, friend, and inviting environment. Our server was an older lady who was very nice and very attentive. The food arrived at out table hot, beautifully prepared and very flavorful. For two dinners, salads, bread, drinks and dessert, we left more than satisfied and only cost a fraction of what a similar meal costs at other establishments.

A longtime family favorite! Coconut shrimp was perfect and filling, Cioppino was a fantastic dish with a sauce that could be drunk with a spoon. They offered a vegetarian dish which was nice considering it was a seafood restaurant.

My husband and I ate here about 2 weeks ago. totally enjoyed the food and the service. Older establishment, not fancy, but very friendly. We ate on the screened in porch overlooking the river. My husband ordered the seafood type platter, he totally enjoyed and the portions were very large. I had the scrod and it too was very tasty. we will definitely go to this restaurant again. !!!

When we walked in I couldn't tell of the restaurant was charming or if it looked like something of of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. We sat outside on the covered porch. The breeze and views were wonderful. We had a 4yt old with us and service was very slow. Any good server knows to keep things moving when people have small children. The house salad dressing was obviously store bought. Nothing special at all. The kids menu took about 10mjn to arrive. They had to "print it out". It was very limited. No popcorn shrimp. What seafood restaurant has NO popcorn shrimp on the kids menu?! My daughter ordered the fried fish and proceeded to eat most of the shrimp on my plate. The brocolli came out and looked brown. Not green. The kids side of fries can not be substituted. We wanted no fries and broccoli for the side. We had to get the fries and pay for a side of broccoli. A drink is not include with the kids meal either. My shrimp trio was not very good. The scampi is WAY to heavy on the white wine. The friend shrimp were tempura battered and greasy. My husband got the fried Captains platter. It was decent but nothing special. Service was slow and we felt partly ignored. Bathrooms are old and dirty. I kept feeling like Gordon Ramsey was going to close this place down for a menu refurbishment and staff training. Most likely won't return.

Happened on this place when in Malabar with a friend for a conference--Yelp directed us to this place which was just 5 miles away, and we were starving and wanting seafood, so off we went. We thought it was another restaurant we had eaten at in a previous year that was so-so, and we were surprised to see that it was a different place. What a pleasant surprise indeed! Super-fresh, simple, but very well prepared seafood, salad, and this ridiculously decadent cheese and shellfish appetizer. And pannacotta to die for. All for an incredibly reasonable price--nay, cheap! We sat on the patio, which is very low key and old Florida (another reviewer said the decor was stuck in the '70s, but he doesn't remember that far back--the decor is '60s at the latest). Quiet, playing a nice eclectic music mix, on the delightful screened porch. What a great place! People that live near Melbourne are really lucky to have a gem like this in their back yards.
